A. Initial Training Courses 1. EPA Lead Abatement Worker: Contractor will be responsible to provide the full-length initial EPA-approved training course for Lead Abatement Worker certification. a. The lead abatement worker course shall last a minimum of sixteen (16) training hours, with a minimum of eight (8) hours devoted to hands-on training activities. b. Training will provide, at a minimum, instruction in the following topics: i. Role and responsibilities of an abatement worker; ii. Background information on lead and its adverse health effects; iii. Background information on Federal, State and City regulations and guidance that pertain to lead-based paint (LBP) abatement; iv. LBP hazard recognition and control; v. LBP abatement and LBP hazard reduction methods, including restricted practices; vi. Interior dust abatement methods/cleanup or LBP hazard reduction; vii. Soil and exterior dust abatement methods or LBP hazard reduction. c. Instruction in the topics described in paragraphs A.1.b.iv, v, vi, and vii of this section must be included in the hands-on portion of the course. 2. EPA Lead Inspector: Contractor will be responsible to provide the full-length initial EPAapproved training course for Lead Inspector certification. a. The lead inspector course shall last a minimum of twenty-four (24) training hours, with a minimum of eight (8) hours devoted to hands-on training activities. b. Training will provide, at a minimum, instruction in the following topics: i. Role and responsibilities of an inspector; ii. Background information on lead and its adverse health effects; iii.
