Specifications include, but are not limited to: i. The liquid sodium bisulfite shall be clear and shall contain less than or equal to 0.5 insoluble matter by weight. ii. The sodium bisulfite shall contain 37.5% to 40% sodium bisulfite by weight. The specific gravity of the sodium bisulfite shall be 1.307 to 1.330 at 60°F. iii. The sodium bisulfite shall contain less than or equal to 2% sodium sulfate by weight. iv. The sodium bisulfite shall not contain any impurity in sufficient quantities that causes or may cause, by normal usage, the City to violate any existing permit limitations or water quality standard, or any limit or standard that may implemented during the term of this contract. v. The sodium bisulfite shall not contain any foreign matter that may damage the City’s equipment or facility. This includes any foreign matter that may be present as a result of shipment or transfer from the supplier’s equipment. vi. The sodium bisulfite supplied shall not contain any impurities that cause abnormally rapid decomposition and/or gas production in the agency’s storage vessels. vii. The contractor shall provide an SDS (safety data sheet) for delivered product.
