Specifications include, but are not limited to: Qualified offerors to provide the City with professional softball umpire services for Men’s and Co-Recreational softball leagues. The Contractor will: Assign a representative to City who will act as a direct liaison between Contractor and City and who will process complaints regarding umpires and their services, and schedule appropriate umpires. Provide the appropriate number of umpires for six (6) game sites, Monday – Friday, for approximately 2,500 games per year. Games will have a fifty-five minute time limit with no new inning (except ties) starting after fifty-five minutes. Innings in progress will be completed. Provide the required number of umpires at each designated game site at least 10 minutes prior to game time. Have umpires attired in proper umpire uniforms during game times as agreed to by the City and the Contractor. Not charge City if an umpire arrives more than 10 minutes after the game start time. Furthermore, the umpire must work the balance of the game. Provide umpire service at no charge if a game must be re-played due to umpire error (valid protest). Pay the cost for umpiring any scheduled game where Contractor’s umpire fails to officiate. Not charge City for forfeited game if a forfeit occurs the last game of the night and the umpire does not render services or leaves the premises without officiating a non-forfeited game. Charge City payment for games less than a complete game (3 innings) as defined by City rules at half game price. Provide a list of tested, certified and/or trained umpires to City prior to the start of each season. Instruct umpires that they may not play and work in any City softball league. Umpires must choose to play or work in Chandler, not both.
