Tempe is seeking qualified firms to provide materials testing services in connection with City of Tempe capital improvement projects or public infrastructure projects. Contract services may include, but are not limited to, any of the following: 1. Full-time availability of an on-call field testing technician with a vehicle, testing equipment and applicable mobile technology. As needed, provide testing coverage for emergency projects. For continuity during the contract period, the City is seeking a designated technician and administrative contact to be committed during the entire contract period, with any replacements or substitutions to be approved by the City Engineer. 2. Positive lab test results to be furnished within 72 hours and failing results within 24 hours, unless duration of tests exceeds these limits. 3. Compaction testing. 4. Soil, aggregate, and asphaltic concrete testing. 5. Concrete, mortar, and grout testing. 6. Testing of pavement replacement, slurry seals, and other street maintenance projects. 7. Approval of mix designs and material acceptability. 8. Review of technical specifications. 9. Monitoring and inspections of construction work, including special inspections required by Building Code. 10. Quality control measures and record keeping.
