Specifications include, but are not limited to: The following performance specifications are necessary for the variety of missions conducted by the Pinal County Sheriffs Office. 2.1 Range. The helicopter (as equipped at basic price) must have a maximum range of not less than 250 NM. 2.2 Speeds. The VNE (never exceed speed) may not be less than 150 KIAS at sea level. The high speed, cruise speed figured at maximum internal gross weight with all specified equipment installed at Sea Level, standard conditions, may not be less than 120 KIAS. 2.3 Weights. For purposes of this subparagraph, weights are based on the helicopter as equipped at basic weight. The internal useful load of the helicopter may not be less than 1400 lbs. 2.4 Hover Ceiling, Out of Ground Effect. At maximum internal gross weight, standard atmosphere, the helicopter must have a Hover Ceiling OGE of not less than 6,000. In ground effect hovering performance of at least 11,000 feet. 2.5 Air Filtration System. The aircraft shall be equipped with an inlet barrier filter system at time of delivery. 2.6 External Loads. The aircraft shall be equipped with and certified for a cargo hook with a minimum 2000 lb capacity. 2.7 Endurance. At normal patrol speeds (60-80 knots) and normal operating weight as itemized, shall not be less than 2.0 hours. The aircraft shall have minimum 1.5 hour endurance for a combination of patrol and pursuit (fast cruise) speeds. 2.8 High Skid Gear. Aircraft must have high skid gear installed and certified. 2.9 Aircraft gross weight will not exceed 4500 lbs. 3. ENGINE and TRANSMISSION/GEARBOX The aircraft shall be equipped with a gas turbine engine capable of the following at a minimum: The helicopter shall have at least a four-hundred fifty (450) shaft HP or higher engine. FADEC (with analog backup system) equipped engines will also be accepted. 3.2 The scheduled overhaul cycle of the engine may not be greater than 4000 hours. If the specific proposed engine has a Hot section inspection it shall not be greater than 2,000 hours. 3.3 The engine shall be capable of operation using Jet A, Jet B or JP4 fuel.
