Black Canyon Highway, formerly a Super 8 hotel, utilizing funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) program. The purpose of the purchase is to redevelop the site and add 126 new units of affordable housing. This project will provide needed conversion and renovations to the former Super 8 hotel that the City of Phoenix acquired for affordable rental housing units, prioritizing people aged 55 and over who are exiting homelessness. The renovations will ensure individuals exiting homelessness to have safe, affordable studio units, including accessible or adaptable units for individuals with disabilities.
