Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, taxes, and fees required to perform the following work required under this project: a) Mowing and edging of lawn(s) – All lawn(s) shall be mowed as needed during active and non-active growing seasons. Line trimming and hand edging shall also be performed as needed. All grass clippings shall be removed from the property. b) Edging of ground cover – Ground cover shall be manicured / trimmed as needed so that all pathways and obstacles are kept clear. c) Pruning of shrubs and bushes– Shrubs shall be pruned to maintain a manicured / trimmed appearance and on an as needed basis to remove damage caused by Mother Nature, vandalism, unintentional acts, and disease. d) Pruning of trees – Trees fewer than 10 feet in height shall be pruned / trimmed to maintain neat appearance. Trees more than 10 feet shall have low hanging branches pruned / trimmed up to 10 feet as appropriate. Trees shall also be pruned / trimmed on an as needed basis to remove damage caused by Mother Nature, vandalism, unintentional acts and disease. e) Rock and mulched areas – Rocked and mulched areas shall be kept free and clear of debris, both natural and man-made. All areas shall be kept raked in a smooth appearance on an as needed basis and kept reasonably free of weeds. f) Fertilization – All plants shall be fertilized twice a year. Appropriate fertilizers to be used shall be determined by landscaper and shall be based on soil conditions, plant and turf conditions as well as seasonal needs. g) Weed control - Weeds that are greater than 3” in height shall be removed by physical means. Weeds that are less than 3” in height may be controlled with postemergent chemicals or by physical means. Pre-emergent chemical treatment will also be allowed as determined by the landscaper. All grassed areas shall be treated with pre-emergent herbicide seasonally. h) Debris hauling – Landscaper shall be responsible for clean-up, removal and disposal of all debris. i) Irrigation – Irrigation system shall be checked on a regular basis to insure proper working condition. Minor adjustments shall be made to the system at no additional charge to the City. Any damage to the irrigation system caused by the landscaper shall be repaired by the landscaper at the expense of the landscaper. j) Frequency of services – Work shall be performed on a weekly basis.
