3.1 Develop and maintain effective relationships with external governmental entities to support the Arizona Department of Education’s (ADE) vision: “The Arizona Department of Education is a service organization committed to raising academic outcomes and empowering parents.” 3.2 Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and relevant experience working with ADE’s legislative agenda. This includes, but is not limited to: • Familiarity with the ADE’s Policy Development and Government Relations processes. • Experience collaborating with state education officials, legislative staff, and other stakeholders to support or influence education-related legislation. • Capacity to provide strategic guidance and policy analysis aligned with the ADE’s legislative priorities. 3.3 Represent and advocate for ADE’s interests with lawmakers and other stakeholders on matters related to the state budget, legislative bills, and other assigned issues. 3.4 Act as a liaison between ADE and the Arizona Legislature, as well as with federal agencies, state agencies, utilities, nonprofit organizations, and other entities as assigned. 3.5 Identify, track, and analyze proposed legislation and policy developments that may impact ADE operations, programs, or priorities. 3.6 Attend and actively participate in meetings, hearings, and public forums on behalf of ADE, advocating on topics as directed. 3.7 Ensure ADE’s official positions and perspectives are clearly and accurately communicated to relevant parties and decision-makers.
