2. Purpose 2.1 Purpose Statement: The purpose of this solicitation is to provide the Arizona Department of Economic Security (ADES), Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility (DBME), and Disability Determination Services Administration (DDSA) statewide diagnostic imaging services to Claimants who have applied for benefits administered through Social Security Administration (SSA). 2.2 Legal Authority: A.R.S. §41-1954 (A) 6 provides the Department the authority to make contracts and incur obligations within the general scope of its activities and operations subject to the availability of funds. 2.3 Projected Awards: It is the intent of ADES to make one or multiple awards for this service with the intent of attaining statewide coverage. 2.4 Projected Utilization: Service provision is on an as-needed basis. There is no guarantee of the number of services to be authorized. 2.5 Funding: DDSA is fully funded by the Federal Government Social Security Administration program under Title II and Title XVI. 3. Service Description 3.1 Taxonomy Definition: Diagnostic Imaging, a service that provides for the examination and interpretation of studies performed in the field of diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, magnetic resonance, positron emission of tomography, computed tomography and angiography. 3.2 Actual Service Description: Provide diagnostic imaging services, including but not limited to orthopedic and chest imaging, performed by licensed health professionals. These services assist Claimants in obtaining eligibility for Social Security Administration benefits. Diagnostic imaging services may include the reading, interpretation, and reporting of findings. This service does not include recommendations for intervention or treatment. 3.3 Target Population/Service Eligibility: Statewide Diagnostic Imaging services for Claimants who have applied for Social Security Disability benefits.
