The purpose of the Clinically Supervised Parenting Time (CSPT) program is to provide parenting time supervision and parent coaching by a qualified parenting professional or mental health professional to families with substantiated or alleged severe or egregious abuse, medical child abuse, sexual abuse, parent-child alienation, and other circumstances as described in Exhibit A, the Department of Child Safety Clinically Supervised Parenting Time Program Manual, Additional Information - Service Description. The goal of CSPT is to improve parent-child interaction so that parenting time can safely increase and parenting time restrictions can be reduced. CSPT helps the parent develop the skills necessary for a healthy parent-child relationship in a structured environment that is emotionally and physically safe and prevents trauma to the child. The length of time that a family receives CSPT services will be determined by ADCS, upon review of the recommendations of the involved professionals and based on the progress of the parent(s). The initial Service referral will authorize service for ninety (90) days.
