Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Surprise, in conjunction with the Surprise Arts & Cultural Advisory Commission (SACAC), is seeking qualified artists to propose artwork that will be placed as a gateway entry monument in the center of an existing roundabout near Cactus & Litchfield Roads (see included photos of site). This entry feature will welcome users to the City’s Public Works Operations Facility, Wastewater Treatment Facility and the Surprise-Gateway Training Center. A new 44,000 square foot project is also planned for this location and will support public safety fleet maintenance and storage needs and consolidate Public Works Operations into one facility to aid in street maintenance, trash/recycling, traffic signal and citywide vehicle fleet operations efficiencies. The artwork is intended to pay tribute to the critical operations that occur within thisfacility and the men and women that provide these services.
