Specifications include, but are not limited to: The MCDPH, Office of Community Empowerment is seeking to award funds to one or more community-based organizations to serve as a subrecipient of these funds for the purpose of facilitating art & culture exhibition(s) focused on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal is to have local artists create art of various forms to display/perform at exhibition(s) for the community scheduled to take place in Winter 2023/2024. Themes may include, but shall not be limited to: Reflections on the impacts of COVID-19, specifically, how COVID was experienced by different priority populations such as racial/ethnic groups, those with disabilities, people experiencing homelessness, aging, etc. Art that can assist with culturally and linguistically appropriate distribution of public health information such as increasing vaccine confidence, The impact of COVID on mental health, Changing the narrative and increasing awareness of health disparities within Maricopa County Facilitate dialogue between groups Maricopa County leadership, MCDPH key decision makers, and members of the media/press will be invited to attend the event. After the exhibition, some pieces may be displayed at county locations to support the intersection of art and public health.
