Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Tempe Transit (City) is seeking proposals to establish a term contract for the fabrication and delivery of bus stop passenger shelters. The City is looking for high quality, durable, long lasting, bus stop passenger shelters that can withstand constant use and weather the Arizona climate for a minimum of ten (10) years. Transit Type A and B bus stop passenger shelters per the attached City of Tempe Engineering Division Standard Detail T-654 Sheets 3 through 20 of 21 (Exhibit B). B. The Contractor shall deliver and unload shelter components to the Transit storage yard organizing and matching components to create complete shelters of each type. The Contractor shall label each component to clearly identify matched components. The Contractor confirms that labeled components can be successfully assembled together to create a shelter per the City Standard Details. C. The Contractor shall provide all necessary assembly fasteners and hardware – nuts, bolts, anchors, washers, rivets, etc., for all structure-to-structure and structure-to-concrete slab connections, to fully assemble and install each shelter. D. The Contractor shall provide loose fasteners and hardware for each complete shelter in a secure container labeled with shelter type. E. The Contractor shall provide a list, by shelter type, of all fasteners and hardware required to assemble and install each shelter type. The list shall include the description and quantity for each fastener and piece of hardware supplied including rivets. F. The Contractor shall prepare all welds for a smooth powder coat finish including removal of rust, slag, burrs, and rough or sharp edges. G. The Contractor shall prepare all shelter components for a smooth powder-coat finish by disassembling all parts – including perforated upright screens, pop-riveted upright perforated screen stops, rear screens, and roofs without their standing seam panels, remove all weld slag, remove rough or sharp edges, and blast all surfaces separately to remove minor blemishes and rust. H. The powder coat process shall include the full disassembly of all components, chemical stripping to remove any existing coatings and to expose raw steel, sandblasting of all surfaces to properly prepare them for maximum adhesion, the application of a zinc prime coat and a minimum 3.5 mil smooth top coat, in RAL8028 “Brown,” for a total powder coat system thickness of 6 mils. I. The Contractor shall furnish fully assembled subassemblies or components; as applicable, including vertical uprights and rear screen panels with perforated panels, pop-riveted panel stops, and standing seam metal roofing over the roof frame structure. J. The Contractor shall furnish a complete standing seam metal roof system, including panels, clips, ridge caps, and trim for both shelter types. Standing seam metal roofs shall be smooth 24-gauge Berridge Cee-Lock panels (or approved equal) with a top side color of Copper-CoteTM (or approved equal) and an underside color of factory “white.” Contractors shall provide a complete standing seam metal roof system product submittal including color samples with their proposal. K. The Contractor shall provide delivery, unloading, and dunnage as part of the shelter cost. No separate line item is provided for delivery, unloading, and dunnage.
