Specifications include, but are not limited to: Offer a variety of recreational and educational classes, sports, tournaments and activities to meet the needs of the general public. Work in cooperation with neighborhood organizations, businesses, local universities, community colleges and schools, service clubs, etc. to serve the needs of the community. Provide a venue for the community and neighborhood meetings and special events. Provide dynamic recreation programs and structured learning activities open to youth and teens that will meet the needs of the diverse community. Open the Center a minimum of four days per week for not less than 24 hours per week to the general public. Center hours of operation will be finalized after selection and stated in the Operating Agreement. Provide access for parks information to Center visitors, including maps, brochures, and other promotional materials for the Parks and Recreation Department programs. Provide recreation and social programs specifically for youth ages 12 to 18 years such as mentoring, homework assistance, drug education, field trips, guest speakers, nutrition classes, computer classes, dance and music activities and special events.
