The City of Mesa is responsible for the maintenance and repair of over thirteen hundred (1,300) light-duty vehicles (sedans, light-duty trucks, sport utility vehicles, and vans). The current list of inventory is provided as Exhibit 2. These vehicles range in age from new to twenty (20) years old and may have up to three-hundred-thousand (300,000) odometer miles. The light-duty fleet operates primarily on unleaded fuel, with a small percentage operating on diesel, compressed natural gas, hybrid electric, or full electric. Fleet Services operates three (3) shifts, seven (7) days a week, to minimize vehicle downtime and ensure operational continuity. To manage current and future demand effectively, the City seeks external Contractor(s) support to ensure City departments have vehicles available for their operations.
