Notice is hereby given that Maricopa County (County) is conducting this invitation for SEALED BIDS for the work described herein:
Construction of roadway improvements for Northern Parkway: Agua Fria River to 103rd Ave, including new pavement, sidewalks, medians, traffic signal upgrades, lighting, signing and striping. This is a federally funded project and subject to Davis Bacon wage requirements.
Each bid must be accompanied by a Surety Bond, cashier’s or certified check or postal money order equal to 10 percent of the bid, made payable to the Treasurer of Maricopa County as a guarantee that if the work is awarded to the bidder; the bidder will, within ten (10) days from the date of Notice of Award, enter into proper contract and bond condition for the faithful performance of the work, otherwise said amount will be forfeited to the Board of Supervisors as liquidated damages.
No Pre-Bid Conference has been scheduled under this solicitation. All construction work on this contract is to be completed within 365 CALENDAR DAYS beginning with the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Exclusive of and following the contract time allowed for construction work are 120 CALENDAR DAYS for internal administrative purposes thereby resulting in a total contract performance period of 485 CALENDAR DAYS. For this contract, a DBE goal of 7.69% 0.0% (NO-GOAL)-See Addendum 4)) is established for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. The contractor, sub recipient or subcontractor shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, or sex in the performance of this contract. The contractor shall carry out applicable requirements of 49 CFR Part 26 in the award and administration of DOT-assisted contracts. Failure by the contractor to carry out these requirements is a material breach of this contract, which may result in the termination of this contract or such other remedy as the recipient deems appropriate.
The Maricopa County Department of Transportation, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat.252.42 U.S.C. §§ 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award
