Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1) Replacement of the two existing C-Concourse natural gas driven chillers.
a. New units to be high efficiency electric units.
b. Provide a simple analysis of the C-Concourse chilled water system’s cooling loads,
sufficient to appropriately size new chillers for normal operations. Equipment selection
to consider the consequences of component failures, or the need for equipment to be
taken out of service for maintenance.
c. Evaluate existing cooling towers for capacity; evaluation effort limited to matching the
cooling requirements of proposed new chiller plant. Recommend replacement or upgrade
2) Provide recommendations for system isolation valves and piping such that:
a. Each cooling tower can be taken “off-line” and repaired independent of the other and,
b. Either chiller can be configured to utilize either cooling tower (crossed connected).
3) Upgrade select valves with motor operators to allow remote/automatic summer/winter system
switchover operations through the BAS.
