Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center (YKCC) has eight (8) indirect water heaters that require replacement. Reference the attached engineer design for the project details. The contractor is required to demolish the old water heaters and copper piping. The YKCC has the replacement indirect water heaters on-site (see attached engineer drawings). The contractor shall replace and install all copper piping, fittings, valves, pumps, sensors, pipe insulation, label sleeves, pressure tank, and tempering valve. The recommended tempering valve is a Powers LFIS150C0SLP (Inlet: 2”, Outlet: 2 ½” and Return 1”). The copper return line is ¾” and will require a ¾” to 1” reducer. A small amount of electrical work is needed to power the new pumps and signal wire to the BAS controller for the tempering valve. The new tempering valve requires integration into the existing Siemens BAS. The construction area does not have any asbestos-containing material (ACM). No ACM testing is required under this contract. The institution cannot be without hot water for more than 72 consecutive hours. If 50% of the hot water cannot be restored within 72 consecutive hours, liquidated damages will be applied. If 100% of the hot water cannot be restored within 144 consecutive hours, liquidated damages will be applied. The contractor can work as many hours a day as needed, Monday thru Sunday.
