Major features of work include: 1. Abandon and remove existing septic system in accordance with all State, Federal and Department of Public Works (DPW) requirements. a. Existing absorption field shall be leveled to match existing grade. There is an existing utility pole located in the absorption field. Grading shall occur around the pole in conjunction with Doyon Utilities and DPW Utilities. 2. Design and install the new septic system for a 20 person building occupancy in accordance with all State, Federal and DPW requirements. a. Design shall be designed and stamped by an engineer registered in the state of Alaska. The Engineer of Record (EOR) shall verify the installation and stamp the as-built drawings. b. Design shall be reviewed by DPW prior to Construction. c. Contractor shall be responsible for all coordination, permitting and payment of fees with ADEC. d. The new septic system shall be located north of B 5108 (see Attachment B). e. The existing lift shall be assumed adequate to support the new septic system. f. Any dewatering required for construction of the new septic shall be coordinated with DPW to obtain necessary permits. g. New sewer line shall be insulated and heat traced. h. New sewer line shall be installed to accommodate expected traffic loads. 3. Electrical requirements: a.
