Specifications include, but are not limited to: Both rinks are approximately 85’ X 200’. However, the roofs must cover a minimum of 100’ X 210’ to cover boxes and spectators. Minimum overhead clearance of 20’ is required. The roof can be open air or have no more than three sides due to Department of Education square footage restrictions. Due to public safety concerns, snow will be retained on the roof or the proposal will address how snow will be safely managed. Water drainage and wind speed requirements will also be addressed in the proposed design. The Borough is open to creative solutions such as pre-engineered ClearSpan type products to cover both rinks within the budget, provided they meet fire marshal and regulatory requirements. Metal skin is preferred. Geo testing results are provided. Material may be obtained from the Borough owned gravel pit on Beaver Road in Talkeetna at no charge. Proposer to verify type of material. Work includes all design, including but not limited to civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and all required permitting. New asphalt is not required except for replacing disturbed/removed asphalt surfaces.
