Demolition & Removal • Safely remove the existing pedestrian door, associated hardware, and any components interfering with the new turnstile installation. • Proper disposal of all removed materials off-site in compliance with local regulations. Procurement • Provide and deliver a full-height, bi-directional stainless steel turnstile unit. • Include HID-compatible access control reader and associated hardware. • Include weather protection such as a roof or canopy over the turnstile to minimize snow and ice accumulation. o Final design of the weather protection element must be discussed during the mandatory walkthrough and mutually agreed upon before installation. Installation • Install the turnstile unit at the existing door location with orientation allowing street-side access via HID card. • Modify existing tube steel framing and any infill panels as required to securely anchor the new unit. • Install weather protection component securely to avoid wind or snow damage. • Perform all necessary surface preparation and repaint all disturbed or modified metal components with a corrosion-resistant coating that matches the existing color and finish. • Ensure all installation meets ADA clearance standards and applicable building codes.
