Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. Work under this contract consists of plowing and scraping snow and spreading ice melt and sand on the roads as called for in this contract. b. The Contractor shall provide sufficient vehicles, equipment and licensed operators to plow Old Dairy Road in a timely manner. c. The Contractor shall scrape and remove snow under the following conditions: i. Old Dairy Road: on all occasions where new snow has accumulated to depths exceeding 2-inches. d. Scraped snow will be deposited so it does not block driveway or entrances into side service area roads. e. Subject to notification to the Borough, the Contractor shall also resolve the following conditions prior to 6:00 am: i. Drifting snow that causes problems for travel. ii. Ice conditions that seriously affect travel. f. The Contractor will sand and/or ice melt areas of the Old Dairy Road with ice or snow accumulation as specified above, for the safe passage of all vehicles. g. The Contractor shall be responsible for all its own equipment repair and maintenance. h. Roads shall be cleared to these specifications prior to 6:00 a.m. Failure to have roadways cleared by the specified time shall be cause for the Borough to have that route plowed with other equipment or by another contract at the expense of the Contractor. i. The Contractor shall notify the Borough immediately if any equipment is out of service. Equipment must be returned to service as soon as possible. The Borough, at the expense of the Contractor, may make alternate plans to have the snow removed from a route until the Contractor notifies the Public Works Director that the equipment is back in service.
