Specifications include, but are not limited to: : A. Service areas, as identified in the attached area maps, must be serviced according to the direction of the Project Manager. When a snow event occurs, the Project Manager or designee will notify the contractor with service request information via phone call and followed up via written email. Services (snow plowing and/or sanding) shall be performed on a “call out” basis ONLY. The contractor shall not perform any services unless specifically requested to do so and will not be compensated for unrequested services. The selected contractor will be contacted when snow accumulation reaches approximately 1.5” (or any depth deemed appropriate by ANC-Airfield Maintenance) and will be expected to arrive onsite performing work within 2 hours after initial contact. After arrival, the contractor will be expected to complete plowing and sanding of all surfaces within 6 hours. Keep in mind the anchorage airport is a 7-days a week, year round, 24hrfacility; you may be called at odd hours throughoutthe night, and you must arrive on site within 2hrs after initial callout. By signature on this ITB, you understand and willadhere to these requirements. A.1. Continuous Snow Removal. If the contractor is asked to remain on site to continue plowing after all surfaces have been plowed and sanded one-time, the contractor will be compensated for an additional “call out” to once again plow and sand all surfaces a 2 nd time. B. The contractor will be required to provide snowandice control services seven days a week, including weekends and holidays, at any time of day or night (NOTE: The state will not pay for contractor overtime costs, only the agreed upon costs of the contract). C. Contractor shall ensure all spoil (snow removed from areas under this contract) is pushed, hauled, and/or stacked within the designated snow collection areas/snow piles (If applicable. See attached maps). To the greatest extent possible, snow shall not be allowed to accumulate in a manner that would restrict vision for intersections of roadways and driveways and intersections of roadways and parking lots. Snow shall not be plowed against any fence (minimum 10’ clear space required), buildings, equipment, telephone poles, fire hydrants, or storage containers without written authorization by the Project Manager. No snow or ice berms shall be left at driveway/roadway entrances or access points. D. Gates are to be to free and clear of snow and ice a minimum of 24” on each side of the gates length in the open and closed position. Gate will have unobstructed operation. Dumpsters are to be free and clear of snow and ice a minimum of 24” in front to allow for unobstructed access by foot or vehicle. At no time shall snow be piled or plowed in front of gates, doors or dumpsters. E. Within parking lots (if applicable to this contract), snow shall be plowed the full width of all lanes in between rows of parked cars without berms that impede the movement of cars in and out of parking spaces. Snow shall also be plowed the width of unoccupied parking spaces when 2 or more spaces become available,side-by side.
