The North Slope Borough (NSB) is seeking a qualified design-build contractor to execute a boiler replacement and HVAC system upgrades at the NSB Police Department building in Utqiaġvik. The project includes a full boiler and domestic hot water system replacement, as well as an assessment and modernization of the existing HVAC infrastructure and controls. The selected contractor will be responsible for identifying critical failures, recommending standardized components, improving system reliability, and integrating upgrades with the Borough’s Building Management System (BMS). This project emphasizes long-term maintainability, compatibility, and operational control by NSB Public Works and Police Department personnel. The replacement of the boiler system is the highest priority of this project due to the critical importance of reliable heating in Arctic conditions.
