The Municipality is now seeking proposals, to support the safety of the use of the Port for cruise vessels and other users of the Port and of the public and community, from qualified Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) firms to provide pre-construction services in collaboration with the design team during Phase 1, including but not limited to cost estimating, value engineering, scheduling, and constructability reviews. The intent is to enhance constructability, identify innovative solutions to reduce cost and accelerate the schedule, develop project phasing strategies, and position the Municipality for a potential construction agreement in Phase 2 with the CM/GC firm. The selected Contractor will join the Municipality of Skagway and the design team in a “Team-Build” approach to project delivery. The selected Contractor will assist with the final construction drawings prior to starting the project.
