Specifications include, but are not limited to: contract to provide winter month snow plowing & snow/ice removal & sanding services in the parking lots and/or adjacent roadways for multiple Parking Lots located in Anchorage Alaska, for the Department of Transportation & Public Facilities.; Division of Facilities & Services (DFS). 1.1 The services will normally be performed during the months of October through April. All work will be performed after normal working hours (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday or anytime during Weekends and State Holidays). 1.2 The parking lots must be checked each evening/morning Sunday through Thursday, to ensure no more than 2” of snow has accumulated prior to the start of the business day (7:00 a.m. Monday - Friday). The State will only pay for one snow plow service (occurrence) during a 24 hour period Monday – Friday, we will not pay for any weekend service. 1.3 The contractor must haul the snow and ice to their personal dump site within seventy-two (72) hours after performing work. The State will not pay addition costs for hauling and dumping. These costs must be included in your firm fixed bid price. 1.4 The Contractor shall be responsible for any damages to State facilities, utilities or private property resulting from this work. 1.5 The Contractor must be capable of responding to all locations/Lots awarded to them simultaneously and must provide a phone number for 24 hour contact. 1.6 The State guarantees no minimum or maximum usage under this contract. This is a per occurrence firm fixed price contract for any and all services needed to comply with the scope of work. If 4 + inches of snow fell between 7pm and 7am. The contractor will be compensated for 1 occurrence at the 4 + bid rate, NOT multiple times at the 2” bid rate. 1.7 It is the intent of Appendix C to describe the scope of snow plow & snow removal services necessary to ensure satisfactory performance of the work at the project site and such services to be provided by the contractor in accordance with the contract. Any work, materials or equipment that may reasonably be inferred from the contract documents as being required to produce the intended result, shall be supplied without any adjustment in contract price or contract time, whether or not specifically called for.
