Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. General Description: Provide all work associated with relocation of relocatable buildings within the Municipality of Anchorage. Approximate size of relocatables are 24-feet wide x 40-feet long. B. Construction: Furnish all labor, supervision, testing, permits, materials, tools and equipment as necessary to properly complete the scope of work for the relocatable building moves including removal and disposal of existing stairs, ramps, skirting and seismic attachments to ground. At relocated locations all relocatables shall be placed properly including new and/or reused cribbing and attachment thereof to the relocatable building. Contractor shall relocate metal stairs and ramps to new locations. The District will be responsible for placement of wooden stairs, skirting and electrical as needed. 1. If fencing is removed to accommodate moving relocatable buildings, contractor shall replace/reinstall in like kind. 2. Contractor shall protect as needed the site landscaping and repair any damage to sites due to rutting of soft earth, trees, etc. C. Contractor shall be responsible for removal of existing associated materials, equipment, i.e. skirting, stairs, timbers, blocking, landings, handicap ramps, etc. for delivery to new location. All wooden stairs, skirting timbers, blocking, landings and handicap ramps that, in the determination of the Project Manager, are unsuitable for reuse shall become the property of the contractor and shall not be left on District property. Contractor shall remove all wooden stairs, skirting, timbers, blocking, landings, and handicap ramps within 12-hours after the relocatable building has been relocated. Anchorage School District personnel shall be responsible for reinstallation of stairs skirting, timbers and handicap ramps. D. Contractor shall be responsible for securing all moving permits and paying all fees required to begin and complete the project. This District will reimburse the contractor for actual cost of any necessary permits and associated fees outside moving permits. E. Contractor shall be in control of route choice and line lifting coordination with overhead utility companies and shall pay all costs for lifting power lines by any overhead utility company. F. Contractor shall furnish and install cribbing as required by attached cribbing detail Type “B”. Steel brace and lag bolts (1/2” x 3” galvanized) shall be furnished and installed by contractor as required by cribbing detail (See Exhibit A – Cribbing Detail, Type “B”). G. Anchorage School District shall be responsible for all utility hook-ups and disconnects, inclusive of permits associated therewith. H. In order to accommodate 24 inch sections of “T-111” skirting and to minimize waste, the contractor shall position each portable building so that the height above the ground of the highest corner of the portable building does no exceed thirty inches (30”). I. Contractor shall safeguard and protect existing facilities. Contractor will guarantee placement of portable building for a period of thirty (30) days after placement at the owner representatives’ direction. If in this thirty (30) day period the portable building requires additional leveling, the re-leveling will be completed at no additional cost to the district. J. Contractor shall repair or replace any portion of existing buildings damaged as a result of work done under this contract. Contractor will inspect all portable buildings prior to relocation and will notify the Owner in writing of any defects. K. All underground locations for utilities shall be the responsibility of the Contractor.
