Repainting services shall be performed at the following locations, as identified in Exhibit B – Site Maps. Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, and traffic control as required to repaint and refresh the following items at each site: • KIB Administration Building- all curbs, fire zones, handicap stalls, no parking areas, and cross walks, as applicable • KIB Kodiak Fisheries Research Center (KFRC) Complex- all curbs, fire zones, handicap stalls, no parking areas, and cross walks, as applicable • Bayside Fire Department- all curbs, fire zones, handicap stalls, no parking areas, and cross walks, as applicable • East Elementary School- all curbs, fire zones, handicap stalls, no parking areas, bus zones, and cross walks, as applicable • Kodiak Island Borough School District (KIBSD) Administration Building- cross walks only • Kodiak High School (KHS) and Auditorium- cross walks only • Kodiak Middle School (KMS) / KIBSD Maintenance Facility- cross walks only • Main Elementary School- cross walks only • Peterson Elementary School- cross walks only Specific Requirements: • All repainting shall follow existing layouts and dimensions unless otherwise noted. • Paint used must be high-quality, weather-resistant, and suitable for pavement marking with a minimum lifespan of one year under normal conditions. • Apply paint only to pavements that are clean, dry, and warmer than 40 °F. B. • Remove all dirt, oil, grease, and other foreign matter from the surfaces to be painted in a satisfactory manner • ADA symbols and markings must meet current federal and state regulations. • Surfaces must be cleaned and prepared appropriately prior to application to ensure adhesion and durability. Materials: Use materials that conform to the following: • Traffic Paint. Use one of the following: A. Solvent Base Traffic Marking Paint. Paint must meet the requirements of Federal Specification A-A-2886B, TYPE II – Fast Dry-10 minutes no pickup; lead-free yellow (or all colors); or B. Waterborne Traffic Marking Paint. Paint must meet the requirements of Federal Specification TT-P1952 F, TYPE II, or TYPE III; or C. The current State of Alaska DOT&PF maintenance specification for pavement marking paint at areas that cross State of Alaska roads. • Glass Beads. Glass beads shall contain no more than 200 ppm of lead or 200 ppm of arsenic when tested in accordance with EPA testing methods 3062,6010B, or 6010C. Glass Beads shall meet AASHTO M 247, Type 1, with a moisture resistant coating when tested in accordance with AASHTO T346
