Specifications include, but are not limited to: Municipal Light & Power (ML&P) seeks the professional guidance and services of a Gas Operations Consultant who will report to the Manager of Regulatory Affairs. The primary tasks of the Gas Operations Consultant are to 1) assist ML&P in its dealings with the other two Beluga River Unit (BRU) gas field owners, ConocoPhillips and Chevron U.S.A. and 2) assist ML&P in acquiring supplemental gas supplies to the extent that BRU production does not meet ML&P's total gas generation requirements. In order to successfully carry out these tasks, the Gas Operations Consultant must be capable of providing sound advice to ML&P on operational and long range planning issues relating to its one-third ownership interest in the BRU, and serve as the principle point of contact on ML&P's behalf for the negotiation of gas supply contracts and exchanges, as well as gas transportation agreements. The Gas Operations Consultant will also advise ML&P regarding its level of participation in gas storage and potential LNG importation projects as necessary in order to meet gas deliverability requirements and provide surety of a long term gas supply.
