Specifications include, but are not limited to: ACAH is requesting assistance from an accounting firm with demonstrated experience supporting affordable housing developers. The firm will be expected to assist ACAH with accounts of new housing developments beginning while under construction. All services and functions provided by the firm will be in accordance with applicable laws, guidelines, standards and best practices for accounting, including but not limited to General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Services and functions will include, but is not limited to, the following: • Prepare and review journal entries. • Provide accounts payable (A/P) services. • Monthly preparation of adjustments for bank charges and merchant fees. • Perform monthly bank reconciliations. • Identify and maintain records and accounting for all revenue sources for each development. • Reconcile and maintain all accounts receivable (A/R). • Provide cash management services. • Maintain general ledgers. • Provide fund reporting/tracking services. • Provide quarterly income statements, balance sheets, and trial balances. • Prepare any necessary financial reports. • Cooperate and assist management as needed in fulfilling all obligations that accompany various funding sources. • Assist with internal and external audits, as requested by management. • Prepare tax returns, 1099s, and any other IRS required tax documents and/or forms • Provide recommendations for improvements in internal controls, accounting processes and systems. • Perform other accounting responsibilities not specifically set forth above, at direction of management.
