The Alaska Retirement Management Board (“ARMB”) is trustee for the assets of the State of Alaska’s retirement systems, which includes both defined benefit and defined contribution programs totaling almost $45 billion in assets. The asset allocation includes both public and private market investments. The State of Alaska, Department of Law (“LAW”) is legal counsel for ARMB and is seeking proposals from experienced and well-qualified law firms (“Qualified Firm”), with substantial expertise and experience in advising public pension funds, interested in providing legal services related to ARMB’s investment activities – primarily providing legal review and advice related to all types of private market investments. For purposes of this RFP, the term “private market investment” includes, but is not limited to, private equity, private credit, and real asset related limited partnerships. At present there is no estimate of the specific number of hours of legal service that may be needed under this contract.
