a. Clapboard Siding i. Inspect the wood siding for signs of rot, such as soft, spongy areas or fungal growth. Replace any deteriorated clapboard siding on all elevations with new wood clapboard to match existing. ii. Provide cornerboard trim on all exterior siding by cutting back existing clapboard, install boardboard trim on exterior corners, caulk the joint between existing siding and new trim. b. Soffit Work/Bracket Supports i. Provide and install new brackets (to match historic) to support the new fascia boards. ii. Provide and install new brackets (to match historic) to support new shed roofs over exterior doors. iii. Install tongue and groove boards within soffits. c. Painting i. Preparation1. Scrape all loose and flaking paint on all exterior elevations. 2. Fill all nail holes, wood checking and other openings, both existing and new, with Abatron WoodEpox, for smooth finish on all siding. 3. Clean existing siding with appropriate cleaner to remove mildew, dirt, and other contaminated. 4. Remove existing painted overspray on all brick, cover/protect cleaned brick to prevent any new overspray. ii. Primer + Paint 1. Provide appropriate oil-based primer to new and existing exterior siding. 2. Provide a minimum of two coats of exterior acrylic latex paint: Sherwin Williams Emerald Rain Refresh Exterior Acrylic Latex Paint, Color: SW 7008 Alabaster. 3. Paint all exterior wood, including wood siding, exposed roof rafters, fascia board, wood soffits, and brackets. Take care to prevent overspray from metal roofing and existing brick. d. Attic Vents i. Provide and Install (3) pine attic vents, primed white, 1x4 flat trim included. Basis of Design: Ekena Millwork, Item: GVWVE32X3201SFPPI. ii. Field verify rough opening prior to ordering product. e. Temporary Power + Lighting i. Provide temporary power at the exterior of the building and temporary lighting within the interior of each room of the building.
