Description

Specifications include, but are not limited to: Temporary Traffic Signal Location/Position 1.The temporary traffic signal shall be portable and must be able to be positioned without the need for digging, relocating utilities, or other specialized equipment.2.The Contractor shall deploy and position the temporary traffic signal equipment as required.3.Shelby County shall have final determination of the placement of any temporary traffic signal equipment.4.Upon completion of the final traffic signal, the Contractor shall remove the temporary traffic signal upon stop and go operation of the final traffic signal.Temporary Traffic Signal Configuration/Operation 1. The temporary traffic signal shall provide self-contained power to provide continuous operation for the length of time the unit is required to be deployed.Solar or generator power is acceptable so long as it meets continuous operation requirements.2.The temporary traffic signal shall meet NEMA TS-S specifications for type TRl PTS. 3.The temporary traffic signal shall provide conflict monitoring capability at all times.4.The temporary traffic signal shall provide fully actuated traffic control using video or radar vehicle detection.5.The temporary traffic signal shall provide left turn phasing where required by Shelby County.6.The temporary traffic signal shall meet requirements for traffic signals as specified in Part 4D of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) 2009 edition.7.The temporary traffic signal shall provide a minimum of two signal heads for each approach of the intersection.Additional traffic signal heads may be required as specified by Shelby County.8.Shelby County shall specify the traffic signal timings to be deployed in the temporary traffic signal.
