• Install Valves and appurtenances in accordance with supplier’s instructions, contract documents and requirements of applicable AWWA standards. • Install valves plumb and level. Install all valves free from distortion and strain caused by misaligned piping, equipment and other causes. • Position all valves and appurtenances so that when valve is fully operated it does not conflict with piping system elements upstream or downstream of valve. Provide supports for large or heavy valves and appurtenances as required to prevent strain on adjoining piping. • Install valves so that operating handwheels or levers can be conveniently turned from the operating floor without interfering with access to other valves, piping, structure and equipment as approved by MAWSS personnel. • Avoid placing operators at angles to floors and/or walls. • Install valves and actuators so that indicator arrows are visible from floor level.
