Specifications include, but are not limited to: Base System Architecture Requirements - Respondents will work with the University to define optimal system hardware, software, pilot system, and non-recurring engineering requirements (EXPANSIONS). The basic tenants of system design should include: · All proposed hardware and base software stack (commercial or open source) should be supported by the Respondent at the time of system acceptance and through the subsequent 60 months of production system use. · The proposed system should be a balanced, commercially-available, production-grade HPC system that contains an appropriate combination of processor, memory, interconnect, disk input/output (I/O), and operating system (OS) capabilities in order to execute complex, tightly-coupled, large-scale, scientific calculations; more specifically, the system should be able to successfully execute a variety of workloads, including jobs which stress all subsystems and which require the simultaneous, tightly-coupled use of the full number of compute nodes within the system. · All equipment should be new. No refurbished or used equipment. · The Respondent should describe their supply chain security strategy including those of subcomponent Respondents. · A thermal overload protection capability should be included to prevent overheating of the nodes. A hardware-based solution is preferred. · The system compute cabinets, I/O cabinets, support cabinets, cooling distribution units (CDU) and network cabinets will be installed in the space defined in Appendix A. Equipment layout should provide adequate service area/isle space in relation to existing infrastructure. The system should be designed to stay within the capacity of the HPC Facility’s power and cooling capabilities. · The system should minimize power consumption. · Once award is complete, the Contractor should provide a project manager for the duration of the project to include: o Final configuration o Site review o System off-site build o Factory test o Installation at the University facility o Acceptance testing...
