This is a Sources Sought Notice and is strictly for market research purposes. There is no solicitation available at this time; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation and its supplements. It is the responsibility of the contractor to monitor the Government Point of Entry for the release of any solicitation. This Sources Sought Notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. It also does not commit the Government to pay for any costs incurred by interested parties in preparing its responses to this notice. Neither unsolicited proposals nor other kinds of offers will be considered in response to this Sources Sought Notice. It is anticipated that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District will award a Firm Fixed Price Contract for the Fabrication and Delivery of Coffeeville Lock Lower Miter Gates and Spare Parts, Black Warrior-Tombigbee (BWT) Project Office, Tuscaloosa, AL, and is seeking information on the capability and availability of potential contractors interested in proposing on this acquisition. The scope of the work will consist of the Contractor furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment to fabricate, paint, and deliver the miter gates and parts in accordance with plans and specifications. The set of miter gates contains two leaves. The Demopolis lower miter gates are approximately 55 feet tall and 62 feet wide each weighing approximately 445,000 lbs. per leaf for a total weight of approximately 900,000 lbs. The Contractor will be required to deliver the gates by barge to Coffeeville Lock. The Contractor will also be required to take ownership of the old gates and haul them off by barge at the time of delivery of the new gates. The Government will offload the new gates and load the old gates onto the Contractor?s barges. The anticipated award date is 31 March 2026. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to determine the availability of qualified contractors to perform this work and to determine socioeconomic classifications (Large Business, Small Business, HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses, Women Owned Small Businesses, etc.) associated with each. The primary North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this requirement is 332312, the small business size standard for which is 500 employees. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice will be used by the government in making appropriate acquisition decisions. Response Instructions are attached.
