Specifications include, but are not limited to: The conversion of the existing ASPA Bulk Material Handling Facility and adjacent brownfield site areas at the ASPA Main Docks into a state-of-the-art Automotive RO/RO Terminal. The existing Bulk Material Handling Facility wharf located on Three Mile Creek will be repurposed for the safe mooring and loading / unloading of RO/RO Vessels. The existing ASPA Pier E may also be used for mooring and loading / unloading of RO/RO Vessels for the project but no improvements to this existing dock structure are planned. The site, which will be used for the intermodal transportation of various types of vehicles, processing, and storage is split into two primary areas. The first area is the site of the Bulk Material Handling Facility, which is bounded by the wharf to the north, rail tracks to the west and the CG Railway Ferry Terminal tracks to the south and east. The first area is approximately 40 acres. The second area is approximately 20 acres and is located to the south of the first area. It is bounded by State Docks Road to the west, the CG Railway Ferry Terminal tracks to the north, Pier E to the east and 13th Avenue to the south. These areas will be connecting with an access ways that cross ASD Boulevard and the CG Railway Ferry Terminal tracks. The Automotive RO/RO Terminal Project site is illustrated below.
