All correspondence must be made through the Vendor Portal. Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall furnish the equipment, services, and materials necessary to provide for the cleaning of walls, ceilings, doorways, cross passages, handrails, curbs, gutters and outside surfaces of all light fixtures, cameras, speakers, telephones, traffic signals and other devices mounted in the tunnels and the recessed and protruding surfaces of the walls such as doors, cabinets for fixtures, and other appliances within the vehicular portion of the Wallace and Bankhead Tunnels from portal to portal and, in addition, the exterior surfaces of roadway lights, traffic signals and signs that are located on the tunnel entrance ramps from grade point to portal and within ramp walls in accordance with the requirements of the applicable specifications. ALDOT will provide routine roadway sweeping either through a separate contract or by using internal staff. The work as described above shall be performed on a regular cyclical period of 84 calendar days with subsequent 84 calendar day periods extending for the duration of the contract. The quality of the work is the essence of this contract, and no work shall be started on a subsequent cleaning cycle until all work has been accepted by the ATS Center Manager (or their designee) for the previous cycle. In the event the quality of a cleaning cycle is unacceptable, the Contractor will be notified in writing by the ATS Center Manager (or their designee), and all other work shall be suspended until the quality of work has been restored. When the work is again acceptable, the Contractor will be notified in writing stating when the subsequent cleaning cycle may be initiated. All progress payments to the Contractor will be suspended and withheld during any period of suspension due to unacceptable quality. Quality Control measures consisting of a visual inspection by the Engineer will be performed to assure uniform cleaning of the tunnel and appurtenances.
