Specifications include, but are not limited to: .Provide psychiatric stabilization through treatment to committed adolescents to reduce symptoms of mental illness which led to the need to remove the adolescent from the home and community setting. 2.Provide psychiatric evaluation to court ordered adolescents who are suspected of having a serious mental illness versus those adolescents with behavioral or situational problems better treated in another setting and provide recommendations to the Juvenile Court. 3.Provide year round educational services to committed adolescents. 4.Provide an individualized service/treatment plan through a multidisciplinary team approach to include input not only from the evaluations by psychiatry, psychology, nursing, and social work but also by education, therapeutic recreation, the family and the patient. 5.Develop and maintain quality patient care and treatment services to facilitate the return of adolescent patients to the least restrictive setting as soon as possible, to provide a humane and safe environment for each adolescent during their hospitalization, and to improve the quality and competencies of the staff through continuing education and recruitment of qualified personnel.
