The contractor shall furnish proof that it is permitted and capable of receiving solid waste from the City of Gadsden and any surrounding municipalities, which may contract with the City of Gadsden for use of its transfer station at an estimated 28,000 – 29,000 tons annually. Based on the past twelve-month period, the City has averaged approximately 2,478.23 tons per month. The tonnage may be more or less than this amount during any contract year. The City of Gadsden does not guarantee a minimum amount of tons or loads to be hauled nor does the contract represent a commitment to haul at previous levels. The contractor must possess the necessary experience, knowledge, equipment, facilities, permits, licenses and insurance needed to provide all Solid Waste Transfer and Disposal Services as set forth to fulfill all terms and conditions of contract. The term ‘solid waste’ refers to non-hazardous household garbage and rubbish and commercial solid wastes such as wooden pallets, paper, demolition debris and similar type waste. Solid waste as used herein does not include hazardous waste, infectious waste or liquid waste.
