Specifications include, but are not limited to: Notice is hereby given to all interested parties that sealed bids for the purchase of a surface coal mining lease on certain State lands in Winston County, Alabama will be received and publicly opened on February 28, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. by the Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The lease being offered will be for the privilege of taking and removing coal by surface mining operations. The acreage offered for coal mining in Winston County, Alabama is more particularly described as follows: Township 12 South, Range 9 West, the E/2 of the NE/4 and the SE/4 of Section 12 and the E/2 of the NE/4 of Section 13 containing 324 acres, more or less, with 214.49 mineable acres, more or less as reflected on a map available from the State Lands Division.
