a. Research and write a history of the Alabama Public Library Service to include the Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled Division of the Alabama Public Library Service. b. Use a number of primary and secondary research sources (e.g. APLS memos, Board Minutes, journal/newspaper article, annual reports, oral interviews, etc.); The location of this information will be in various parts of the state of Alabama. APLS memos, minutes will be found in Montgomery at the Alabama Public Library Service. History of the Regional Library may require a visit to Talladega. The Respondent will work with the committee to identify resources on as case by case basis. c. Situate the content of the book withing the social, political, and economic context of the period covered; d. Provide progress reports, outlines and drafts according to deadlines agreed to with the Director of APLS and Committee. e. Provide a proposed schedule and workplan for the completion of all the tasks associated the project to be finalized in consultation with the project steering committee. f. Submit the manuscript and accompanying materials by July 2026 for the book to be completed.
