Annual generator preventive maintenance inspections to be performed between October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026. Annual preventive maintenance inspections will be performed for the following generator systems: • Diesel Genset #1 and #2 – 450kW Cummins • Natural Gas Genset – 450kW Cummins Each unit will receive: • 1 annual inspection • 2 semi-annual inspections • Annual oil and filter change • Annual air filter replacement Inspection Checklist 1. Batteries and Battery Charger • Visually inspect battery terminal connections. • Verify electrolyte levels and vent caps on all battery cells. • Inspect battery wiring, connections, and insulation. • Record battery charging function and voltage. • Record battery information and test results. • Record battery condition using a battery tester. 2. Fuel System • Inspect ignition system (Natural Gas and Propane units only). • Record primary tank fuel levels. • Inspect engine fuel system for leaks. • Visually inspect all fuel hoses, clamps, pipes, and fittings. • Inspect rupture/containment basins. • Inspect day tank and controls (if applicable). • Optional: Take fuel sample for laboratory analysis. 3. Cooling System • Record coolant level. • Inspect for coolant leaks. • Inspect drive belts for wear or damage. • Verify coolant heater operation. • Record jacket water temperature. • Inspect fan, water pump, drives, and pulleys. • Inspect all coolant hoses, clamps, and connections. • Inspect radiator, louvers, fan hub, and pulleys for damage. • Record antifreeze freeze point protection level. • Record DCA level prior to replacing coolant filter. • Optional: Take coolant sample for laboratory analysis. 4. Lubrication System • Inspect for engine oil leaks. • Inspect the engine oil lines and connections. • Record oil level. • Optional: Take oil sample for laboratory analysis. 5. Genset Controls and Accessories • Inspect all engine-mounted wiring, sensors, and components. • Inspect all control panel components and wiring. • Ensure all connecting plugs are tight and undamaged. • Inspect all accessories and wiring. • Test and inspect indicator lighting. 6. Intake and Exhaust Systems • Inspect air filter and housing. • Inspect all engine piping and connections. • Record air cleaner restriction reading. • Inspect exhaust system for leaks. • Inspect rain cap. • Replace air filter. • Clean crankcase breather or replace filters. 7. General Conditions • Inspect governor linkage and oil level. • Inspect all guards and the enclosure. • Inspect engine and generator mounts. • Verify emergency stop operation. 8. Transfer Switch • Inspect controls and time-delay settings. • Verify function of the exercise clock and record settings. • Test remote start control operation. • Record utility/source one voltage.
