The department is accepting bids to bring move power from one air monitoring site to its new location. The department is closing the air monitoring site located off of Hwy 14 in Wetumpka. The pole and box, including grounding rod must be removed. A new site is being established off of Hwy 9. The pole and box will need to be installed inside the fence and the new shelter connected. ADEM Site contact Tobey Mallory (334-314-4507) will meet at a convenient time for both parties to confirm pole placement at new site. All work must be completed between November 24 and December 12. Bid must include the following: Phase 1 Removal at Hwy 14 site Removal of power pole, box and grounding rod from exiting site. Site is located at 3148 Elmore Road, Wetumpka, Elmore County. Phase 2 Installation at Hwy 9 site Install pole and box, including grounding the pole inside the fencing at 1640 Central Plank Rd, Wetumpka, AL 36092. Once pole is installed Central Alabama Electrical Co-op will connect to the grid. Phase 3 Connecting site pole to air monitoring shelter. Trench/Bury Conduit and pull wire from pole, use applicable wire gauge that meets all electrical codes for application and distance. Depending on pole placement, distance should be less than 15 ft. Shelter is pre-wired with all required electrical. This is only connecting the electricity from the power pole to the shelter electrical box (see diagram of box), no electrical work required inside shelter.
