Specifications include, but are not limited to: Coordinating and providing educational diagnostic evaluations for local education agencies (LEAs) in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as outlined in this RFP. The purpose of this project is to address the challenges Alabama schools face in providing appropriate and timely educational diagnostic evaluations for students suspected of having a disability in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorder. This includes consideration of special education services under the disability area of autism in the state of Alabama. The ALSDE seeks to increase timely and appropriate ASD diagnostic evaluations to enhance the educational programming and outcomes for children with ASD. The contract will be awarded to the prospective responsible vendor who meets the specifications herein, exhibits an established history of providing this type of evaluation in a satisfactory manner, and proposes to provide the services at the lowest most reasonable price. The ALSDE staff members will review and evaluate all the responses received under the RFP and make recommendations for the final winning vendor. The ALSDE will assume responsibility for all contractual negotiations upon selection of said vendor.
