The cloud environment will provide for one Microsoft Windows 2012r2 Domain controller running continuously and participating in Active Directory replication. Disaster Recovery is able to address variable capacity requirements needed to support the City of Opelika’s disaster recovery use case, such as replication, failover and recovery. The Solution should also allow for yearly testing without additional cost to the City. The City of Opelika would prefer a Self Service environment to activate and test DR functionality. The DR solution should provide custom recovery points for each server covered in the system, ranging from 4 hours for critical ERP systems to 1 Day for less critical systems. This DR solution must be FIPS140-2/CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) compliant. Several of the servers backed up will be from our 911 dispatch, Criminal records database and Mobile Data solution for Opelika PD. CJIS compliant encryption is required and is not optional.
