Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Asphalt cracks and joints greater than or equal to 1/4” shall be sealed. • Sealant material used shall be Polyflex Type 3, or equivalent. • Surfaces shall be clean and dry before the placement of the sealant. Compressed air having a pressure of at least 90 psi shall be used to blow out the joint or crack and remove all traces of dust. • Ambient temperature shall be 40°F and rising before sealant is applied. • The diameter of the sealant applicator head shall not be greater than 4”. • Any surplus sealant greater than 2” from the centerline of the crack shall be promptly removed. • Traffic shall not be permitted over sealed joints or cracks until the sealant is tack free. • A curing agent shall be used to prevent tracking of the sealant after placement. • Traffic Control shall be the responsibility of the Contractor.
