Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Turf Maintenance 1. Mowing of turf areas will be performed at seven-day intervals during peak growing season, April 1st – September 30th. During cool season, October 1st – March 31st, turf areas shall be mowed bi-weekly (as needed) to ensure a well maintained appearance. 2. All trash and debris will be removed during each visit prior to mowing turf areas. No excessive thatch shall be left on turf after mowing. No discharging toward buildings or landscaping. 3. Edging of sidewalks, curbs, parkways, beds, parking lots and drives will be performed each visit during the growing season and when needed during the remainder of the year in order to ensure a well-maintained appearance. 4. Trimming is performed weekly along with mowing. 5. All warm season turf (Bermuda/Zoysia) will be mowed at 1 – 1 ½” whereas fescue will be maintained at 3 – 3 ½” height. 6. Scalping of warm season turf will take place in early spring to remove dormant grass. Precaution will be taken to prevent scalping during the mowing season. 7. All plant beds will be clearly defined between turf and plant locations. 8. Pre-emergence herbicides application shall be made during early spring (February – March) to prevent turf week infestations in turf areas. ; B. Shrub and Tree Maintenance 1. Pruning of ornamental shrubs (up to 15” in height), ground cover, and removal of any dead limbs will be conducted at least five times per year or as required to maintain a neat appearance. A deep prune to obtain uniformity shall be performed in early winter. 2. Partially dead shrubs shall be pruned back to remove necrotic areas. 3. All branches and clippings will be removed from work area immediately after each pruning season. 4. Pre emergence herbicides will be applied to all shrub/tree beds in February/March
