A. The consultant shall perform all necessary site investigation to complete the proposed design work and obtain required permits as described herein. B. The consultant will conduct an updated survey of the topography and tree locations in the project area. The consultant will verify in-field the accuracy of the MCPS survey information on record. C. The consultant will perform all necessary geotechnical work for the design of the sculpture garden and sculpture footings at all 5 sculpture locations shown on the plan. Soil boring locations shall be reviewed by MCPS prior to commencing work. D. The consultant will design and provide technical specifications and details for sculpture footings and attachments for up to 5 sculptures selected by MCPS. Based on the selected sculptures, MCPS will provide the consultant with the quantity, dimensions, height, and location to be used for the final design of the sculpture footings and method of attachment. The exact dimensions and number of sculptures to be selected is unknown at this time. The consultant shall provide a proposed cost to develop drawings and specifications for three classifications of sculptures: 1. Small Sculpture: size range of up to 3’ height 2. Medium Sculpture: size range from 3’ height to 7’ height 3. Large Sculpture: size range from 7’ height to 14’ height E. The consultant will provide a grading plan for the proposed pathway that meets ADA requirements with connections to the existing sidewalk at the gallery patio, the CAC main entrance, and the sidewalk at the parking lot. F. The consultant will provide details for the path installation. The finished material of the sculpture garden path is to be brick pavers to match existing paths in Thompson Park. Include details of the path interaction with sculpture footings and a sleeve detail for any utility crossings. G. The consultant is to provide a SESC plan for the installation of the sculpture garden showing access and staging areas. H. The consultant will work with MCPS to determine the water and electrical requirements for the Sculpture Garden. Water and electric will be brought to the site from the existing CAC. I. The consultant will develop a utility plan for the sculpture garden showing trenching locations and depths for any underground work. Assume all utilities will be placed in sleeves with tracing wire. Include a water line to a specific sculpture location to be determined by MCPS. J. The consultant will coordinate mark outs for underground utilities with the NJ One Call and MCPS Staff affected by proposed work. Record horizontal and vertical utility locations using GPS coordinates
