Product shall be a clear straw-colored liquid with no visible cloudiness, impurities, or sediment. It shall contain no soluble materials or organic substances in quantities capable of producing deleterious or injurious effects on the health of those consuming water treated with the liquid sodium hypochlorite. 5.4 Concentration: 12.5% minimum by weight (15.0% by volume) as stated by The U.S. EPA Pesticide Registration. 5.5 Concentration Delivered: 13.0% by weight (15.6% by volume) preferred, 12.5%. By weight (15.0% by volume) to 13.5% by weight (16.2% by volume), acceptable as measured by a sodium thiosulfate titration. 5.6 Stability: Minimum 11.0% by weight available within 30 days of delivery (low metal contamination content). 5.7 Filtration: The product must be filtered to remove particulates adequately. 5.8 Excess Alkalinity: (NaOH) to avoid stability problems, the excess alkalinity should be maintained in the 0.4% WT to 0.85% WT range.
